Les Éditions Doberman-Yppan. Publishing house founded in St-Nicolas near Quebec City in 1977 by Paul Gerrits, member1975-80 of the Trio de guitares Laval. It has focussed on works by Quebec contemporary composers including Walter Boudreau, Serge Garant, Denis Gougeon, Jacques Hétu, Otto Joachim, Anne Lauber, Michel Longtin, Bruce Mather, Pierre Mercure, François Morel, Jean Papineau-Couture, André Prévost, Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux, Jean Vallerand, and Claude Vivier. Doberman-Yppan has also published teaching material devoted to the guitar and the piano and has acted as distributor for European publishers such as Chanterelle, Orphée, Técla (which specializes in Spanish music), and Musical New Services. Besides music publishing the firm has also been involved in recording production.
