Robert Spencer (Primary Source)

Robert (Bob) Spencer was a gun position officer with the 15th Canadian Field Regiment, and served with the 4th Canadian Armoured Division during D-Day. His regiment moved into Belgium, then Holland, where Spencer was promoted to Captain and appointed forward observation officer (FOO).
