Betty Laron (Primary Source)
As a young Dutch Jewish girl hiding with her family in an apartment for nearly three years, Berry Laron could only speak in whispers. To pass the time she would draw and make wooden toys before being liberated by Canadian troops in April 1945.Please be advised that Memory Project primary sources may deal with personal testimony that reflect the speaker’s recollections and interpretations of events. Individual testimony does not necessarily reflect the views of the Memory Project and Historica Canada.
