Berard Bennett (Primary Source)
Berard Bennett joined the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME, nickname "Reemee") in 1951. He went to Korea in 1952 and spent the first six months with No. 191 Canadian Infantry Workshop. He was then appointed as commanding officer, 198 Light Aid Detachment, which was tasked with providing logistical support, repairing weapons, optics, and vehicles. Bennett remained in Korea until just after the July 1953 armistice and had a long military career, mostly with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals.Please be advised that Memory Project primary sources may deal with personal testimony that reflect the speaker’s recollections and interpretations of events.
