    Art Barker (Primary Source)

    Art Barker served with RCAF, 427 Squadron, from 1942 to 1945. He was the tail gunner in an Handley Halifax bomber, and flew a full tour (30 raids), plus an additional four. Mr. Barker participated in significant raids over German cities, as well as dropping mines along the Norwegian coastline. The crew’s pilot, Don Hepburn, won the Distinguish Flying Cross for a bombing raid over Karlsruhe, Germany in December 1944.     Arthur B. Wahlroth (Primary Source)

    Arthur (Art) Wahlroth joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and trained at RAF Stations Abbington and Harcourt in the UK. He was assigned to the 405 Squadron and undertook missions in Germany (Berlin, Cologne, and the Ruhr Valley).     Arthur Byford was a pilot with No. 426 (Thunderbird) Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force from 1948 to 1951.     Arthur Franklin (Primary Source)

    Dr. Arthur Franklin served as a navigator with No. 418 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force in a de Havilland Mosquito multi-role aircraft, flying over 30 sorties. Due to their experience, he and pilot Harold Lisson were selected to conduct high-risk operations, including dropping supplies to the French Resistance and escorting Avro Lancaster bombers of No. 617 Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF), “The Dambusters,” during Operation CHASTISE (The Dambuster Raid).
