Alfred Mountenay (Primary Source)
Alfred Mountenay served with The Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment during the Second World War. During the Battle of Assoro (20 July 1943), along with a small group (including author Farley Mowat), he scaled the cliffs at Assoro, Italy capturing the imposing German defensive bastion.
